The cost of popularity is very high for these dogs. Many people are attracted by a movie star or a very smart pet portrayed on TV commercials and want to obtain a puppy of this breed. Such owners have no idea of socializing, training and exercising these agile and intelligent creatures and often have problems with an uncontrollable and dominating pet. The only way out for such irresponsible owners is surrendering a pet to the rescue. There are many breed clubs and volunteer organizations that try to save all homeless purebreds. Anyone can help by donating, fostering or adopting a pet.

Golden Retriever Dog -

This breed was developed in Great Britain in the 19th century for retrieving waterfowl and small game. They are very adaptable, willing to please, active and trainable. Today, they are versatile and are widely used as guides for the disabled. This breed has a normal canine structure and requires no surgical alteration and complicated grooming. Males are 23-24 inches high at the withers and weigh from 65 to 75 pounds; females are 21-22 inches tall and weigh from 55 to 65 pounds.
